INTEGRATED HIMALAYAN MOTORCYCLE EXPEDITION-II (I-HiMEx-II) – 2025

DEHRADUN –  Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command, flagged off the Integrated Himalayan Motorcycle Expedition-II (I-HiMEx-II) from Dehradun on 01 Aug 2025.

The flag-off ceremony of the second edition of I-HiMEx was attended by senior Army officers, Secretary of Uttarakhand Tourism Department, and officials from Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Royal Enfield. I-HiMEx-II is an endeavour that pays tribute to our fallen heroes while showcasing the uncharted beauty of the Himalayas.

The expedition aims to honour the Kargil War Heroes, celebrate the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’, and inspire local youth to join the Indian Armed Forces. The team will organise interactions enroute to share tales of valour from Operation Vijay and Operation Sindoor, reinforcing the spirit of patriotism and service.

Prior to the flag-off, the Army Commander interacted with the expedition team and handed over the official expedition flag to the Team Leader. The participants expressed great enthusiasm to undertake this challenging journey alongside Indian Army personnel.

Over 13 days, the 25-bike expedition will traverse more than 2000 km through the Garhwal Sector, covering Dehradun – Roorkee – Raiwala – Gaucher – Joshimath – Rattana Kona – Mana – Niti Pass – Rimkhim – Kurktui – Rudraprayag – Uttarkashi – Harsil – Thagla-I – Harsil – Raiwala – Roorkee. The route brings forward not only the pristine beauty and cultural richness of the region but also serves as a living tribute to the courage and sacrifice of our soldiers.

The team will visit several villages, schools, and colleges enroute, navigating harsh terrain and weather. As they move across the valleys of the Garhwal Himalayas, they will share stories of valour, sacrifice, and patriotism, conducting outreach programs to educate the youth about the Indian Army’s recent achievements—especially the success of Operation Sindoor—and encourage them to consider a career in the Armed Forces.

This unique expedition promotes both patriotism and tourism. The event is sponsored by Royal Enfield and Indian Oil Corporation Limited, in collaboration with Uttarakhand Tourism.
